Pond Winter Food
Pond Winter Food should really be called "Pond Winter & Spring Food" as it is the period at either end of the season when it essential to feed this lower protein, vegetable (Wheatgerm) based food. Wheatgerm food is more easily digested at lower temperatures & eliminates the risk of intestinal ulceration that can be caused by foods that are high in animal proteins. Start feeding this type of food at a water temperature of around 5C (40f) & switch to "Summer" feeds when the temperature rises to above 10C (50f). The feeding regime should be reversed as the water temperature drops in late Autumn.
