Keeping the occupants of a captive Marine (saltwater) environment, both fish & invertebrates, has probably been the biggest challenge ever faced by aquarists. Thankfully, after many years of research, much of that contributed not just by scientists employed by the big companies but by you, the pioneering home aquarist, we now have a very good understanding of what makes a reef system tick & what we need to do makes its occupants thrive.

By testing & monitoring of the water quality & composition we can determine by comparing those test results with known target parameters, exactly what needs supplementation & when to add those supplements to maintain or restore the water composition.
